To keep out the bugs, flyscreens can be incorporated into the design. Easily removed for cleaning, flyscreens remainin in-situ when opening and closing the window due to Wittmont's concealed winders. Locks are also available if required.

Common in Europe, the tilt & turn window is now available in WA thanks to Wittmont. These versatile windows are ideal for situations where a normal Sorrento-type side opening window is required. Add to this practical design the option of opening the window by leaning the top into a room with hinges at the bottom, like a reverse awning window.

This tilting feature is commonly used in Europe where subtle ventilation behind closed curtains is sought in a heated room. The opening at the top provides for a limited airflow without causing a draught or allowing too much heat to escape.

A common "feature" of older buildings, many people are familiar with the jammed, painted over, draughty relics of the spiral or "weights and balance" window. Fortunately this practical, space saving window format is now available with smooth, trouble free operation and proper weather seals. Using an improved belt system, lifting the the bottom sash automatically draws the upper one down so that they meet in the centre of the window space. This creates a perfect airflow model of ventilation at top and bottom, with the added benefit of a compact design. The Winthrop range are often used by our clients in areas where a verandah would otherwise be obstructed by an opening-out sash - an important consideration when space is limited or in thoroughfare areas, particularly where children pass.
